Another 6 hours of lectures today (following the 6hours of yesterday).
Woke up feeling pretty good, and still pretty chuffed with myself for having the forethought to bring my mini blender.

Breakfast
Just look at that colour! You KNOW its gotta be doing good!
So the preparation paid off! Soooo much better than the other option of not eating...
Tea
Tea was on the move, as I managed to get the 17.35 train - after the day's mental strain (by 4pm on Saturday its hard to keep concentrating on lecture slides) I just wanted to come home.
I've always like LEON. They generally make super tasty, fresh food with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients (changing menu), high welfare produce, organic where possible, minimal processing, naturally low-GI foods, sustainability, etc.. (i.e. my kind of thing!).
For example, their delicious brownies are made with ground almonds instead of flour (hmm sounds familiar) with dark Valrhone chocolate and fruit sugar (no normal sugar). And did I mention, they're delicious..??
They're also really good with food labelling - including all the ingredients, in a clear way you can understand (prob helps that there's no weirdo additives to try to conceal anyway).
The server in the Kings X branch was very helpful re ingredients as well. I went for/we assembled between us:
- Fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackberries
- ~40g Kinetica whey (Vanilla)
- ~300ml coconut milk
- dash of water (to thin it out)
- crushed mixed nuts on top

Only thing was, I forgot to take a tin opener for my coconut milk.. This meant an 11pm enquiry at the hotel reception last night, met with confused/bemused/concerned faces... Hmmm time for drastic action!
I'm not really proud of this (except I am, a little bit, purely for on-the-spot ingenuity).. but when they told me that they didn't have a tin opener I could use, I passed on attempting to explain the Rules of the Crossfit Leeds 30 Day Challenge.. and errrrr told them I was diabetic and needed it for the morning....! GAH
Well, it worked. The little man on reception immediately rushed to the kitchen.. and opened my can himself - with the tin opener screwed to the surface (hence their initial refusal).
So whilst I don't ordinarily advocate lying to get what you want, or generally pretending you have a medical condition you don't, in this instance, I did, and it paid off. Win.
Lunch
Pre-prepared via my trip to tesco (mainly for my morning's fresh berries) last night:

The server in the Kings X branch was very helpful re ingredients as well. I went for/we assembled between us:
- Salad: broccoli, chilli, lettuce, chard, tomatoes, mixed fresh herbs, roasted seeds, seasoning
- Small black coffee
- with Falafel I had bought in Tesco before (chick peas, onion, chick pea flour, olive oil, water, garlic, lemon juice, salt, bicarb soda, coriander, cumin, parsley, pepper)
A bit later I sauntered off to the CafeBar and after some amusing banter regarding the price of ice, got a nice cup full of it... and came back to my seat to pour out:
- Cheeky little smoothie (pre-prepared this morning) - as above
- Handful of leftover berries
Yes I did get a few odd looks. Whaddyagonadoaboutit??
Got home in decent time, to a hungry hungry James... I was pretty hungry by then too, so.... this happened -

FOOD FAIL!!
Anyone know where I went wrong? Did I overcook it? Or undercook it? Or not prepare it right?
[approx 30 mins at 175 celcius in fan oven, checked at 25 mins and didn't seem ready ?]
I hate wasting food but couldn't do anything with this... And gutted because it was an organic donation from my colleague at work :(
I "settled" for this:
